LAMB

We’re very excited to have Manchester duo Lamb playing in their home city at the Albert Hall! The two were one of the first groups to add a lyrical vocalist to steadfasty jungle-based scene. Unlike other groups at the time Lamb dwelled in brash musical contrasts and occasionally contradictions that made their songs as complex and exploratory as they were vocally catchy.

Formed in 1994, Andrew Barlow and Louise Rhodes nailed a contract from Mercury subsidiary Fontana almost straight out of the gate. Their self-titled debut album received widespread critical acclaim in ’96 – an exploration into the more song orientated forms of Jungle encompassing trip-hop, drum’n’bass, and jazz. Touring soon followed, adding live instrumentation into the mix and boosting their profile even further.

In ’09 Lamb got back together after a long hiatus for festival slots and in 2010 fifth album ‘5’ followed too along with their first live album. Anyone who’s heard the live album can attest to how good these guy are and just how powerful they’ll be in the Albert Hall.
