Following the release of their electrifyingly raw new album 21st Century Fiction, The Amazons trio are heading to Albert Hall on the 25th of October, for a raucous show as part of their UK tour. They’re also bringing not just one but two support acts with them to revel in the glory: Overpass and Balancing Act join them on our stage. The latter originated from Manchester and now reside in London, so this is Balancing Act’s biggest hometown show to date, going alongside the fresh release of their debut album! It’s set to be a. Big. Show.
Keen to know all you can about 21st Century Fiction? We are, we’ve had it on repeat in the office. So, we sat down with the Amazonian lads and asked them to create a playlist for us, of tracks that inspired the new album. As true craftsmen, this idea grew and was conceptualised. They even named the playlist: ‘the clouds are swollen, close to bursting’. Delightfully mysterious. Here’s the inspiration behind it: Picture a late summer evening. The air is heavy, thick with heat and tension. Windows open, but no breeze. The sky above is smothered with dark storm clouds – swollen, close to bursting. There’s the unmistakable sense that something has got to give..
This playlist gathers the music that shaped 21st Century Fiction and beyond. Songs that sound like pressure. Songs that sound on the verge of boiling over.
So tune out, picture summer eve, pop the playlist on and join us with The Amazons, on the 25th of October…
