SLEATER-KINNEY

Formed in 1994 from the ashes of Heavens To Betsy and Excuse 17, a pair of groups that rode the first wave of the riot grrrl movement, Sleater-Kinney became one of the most important feminist punk bands of the ‘90s.

Their upcoming record ‘No Cities To Love’ is their first in ten years from the acclaimed trio – guitarist/vocalist Carrie Brownstein, vocalist/guitarist Corin Tucker, and drummer Janet Weiss – a line-up who set a new bar for punk’s political insight and emotional impact.

The new record isn’t about reminiscing on the seven searing albums they put out in ten years before going on an indefinite hiatus in ’06 – it’s about reinvention. It’s about the re-ignition of an unparalleled chemistry to create new sounds and tell new stories. Come and see them live while you can. You never know when the next hiatus might come or how long it’ll be for.
