BEIRUT

We’re immensely honoured to have the incredible Beirut coming to our Albert Hall venue for a special headline show!

Since their breakthrough success in ’06 the band have proven to be one of the most exciting live acts in the world today, showcasing their dexterous mixture of indie-folk, baroque pop, and coruscating electronic touches to growing audiences across continents. Their sound traverses a broad spectrum, from the whimsically plaintive stripped-back touches of the Decemberists to the lo-fi psychedelic experimentation of Neutral Milk Hotel. Imagine their sumptuous sounds in the opulence of the Albert Hall – definitely not to be missed.

At the heart of Beirut is musical prodigy Zach Condon, a multi-instrumentalist who began by making DIY bedroom tunes in his early teens before dropping out of college to travel Europe. While on the trip he took in the sounds of the continent, from Gypsy music to Balkan folk, expanding the palette that now informs the group’s adventurous creations. Their sound is coloured with accordion, keyboards, saxophone, clarinet, ukulele, horns, cello, glockenspiel, and percussion. It’s bound to sound spectacular live. Fans of Mumford & Sons, and anyone who saw our recent back-to-back shows with Bombay Bicycle Club, this one is for you.

Now, three albums into their journey, Beirut are on the crest of a wave of greatness. Don’t miss this chance to see them at the peak of their powers.
