Kerrang!, the UK’s biggest-selling weekly music magazine, are pleased to announce the highly anticipated return ofSum 41, who will headline theKerrang! Tour 2016.

Kerrang! and readers alike were devastated when Sum 41 were forced to cancel their headline slot on the Kerrang! Tour 2012 when frontman Deryck Whibley injured his back. Now, though, the fighting-fit band – completed by Cone McCaslin (bass), Tom Thacker (guitar) and Dave Brownsound (guitars) – are all set to bring their avalanche of pop-punk anthems to UK venues in February 2016 on the Kerrang! Tour 2016.

Think Sum 41 are just about that swimming pool video you see on Kerrang! TV, even after all these years since it first aired in 2001? Well, with incredible highlights from collaborating with Iggy Pop, Tenacious D and Tommy Lee, to selling over 12 million records and touring across the globe countless times, it’s fair to say Sum 41 have surpassed the traditional ‘punk’ band credentials.

2016 also happens to be Sum 41’s 20th anniversary as a band, so what better way to celebrate with a UK tourandnew music! The band have set up PledgeMusic campaign to make what has been described as their ‘best music yet’, easily sitting alongside classic anthems like the aforementioned In Too Deep, Motivation, Still Waiting and Fat Lip. Check out Pledgemusic.com/projects/sum41 for more information. Frontman Deryck Whibley has this to say:

“We’re really excited to be back on tour. After a three-year break, we’re honoured that our first tour back is the Kerrang! Tour 2016 in the UK. We’ve been locked away in the studio making the new Sum 41 record, which we will be out later in the year [2016].”

James McMahon, Editor of Kerrang! has this to say:

“Kerrang! is ridiculously excited to welcome punk-pop legends Sum 41 onto the bill of our iconic yearly tour. They’re a band who’ve grown through the pages of the magazine since the very beginning – us being there through the ups and the downs, us being the magazine that’s always backed them, all the way – and so it’s extremely exciting to be joining them again on the most recent instalment within their incredible adventure. Not only that, but it feels extremely exciting seeing a broken promise four years ago finally being delivered on. I know the readers will be delighted…”
