The Charlatans are one of the most influential bands in UK history. Alongside the likes of The Stone Roses, Happy Mondays, and Primal Scream they were at the forefront of a trail-blazing new sound in the early ‘90s. They added dance rhythms, and swirling psychedelic organ flourishes to the baggy acid-house movement.

Now they’ve had over eleven top-40 albums, three of them reaching the number one spot, and over 17 singles in the top 30. Their twelfth album ‘Modern Nature’ is due to be released on 26thJanuary 2015 and to coincide with the release they’ll be going on a eight date UK tour including a show at our venue!

The album comes after a brutally difficult year for the group following the death of their old friend and drummer Jon Brookes last year from a brain tumour. This album is their way of commemorating their time with him. It features three temporary drummers – Pete Salisbury of The Verve, Stephen Morris od New Order, and Gabriel Gurnsey of DFA’s avant-disco group Factory Floor.

The run of live shows in March will be The Charlatans’ first full UK tour since 2010.
