Disco lovers rejoice once more.. La Discotheque is back for a humongous celebration for their 1st birthday on 25th November at Albert Hall.
What a year it’s been… we’ve been blessed with bookings such as Todd Terje, Hercules & Love Affair, Candi Staton, Dimitri from Paris, Jocelyn Brown, Derrick Carter, Alexis Taylor, Crazy P, Norman Jay, Nicky Siano, Greg Wilson, Horse Meat Disco, PBR Streetgang, The Reflex and so many more! La Discotheque were also awarded ‘Best Club Night’ in the MEN CityLife awards which was a huge honour and a fantastic surprise.
We want all of our fans, old and new, to be out for the 1st Birthday Party and we hope you’re as excited about the line-up as we are…
EVELYN ‘CHAMPAGNE’ KING
Disco royalty! With a name like Evelyn King, this woman was always destined for greatness. With a stunning discography that stretches over 40 years and two number 1 singles she is undoubtedly one of the queens of the disco era. She’ll be flying over from the US for a rare UK performance!
JOEY NEGRO
A house and disco legend returns to Manchester. There aren’t many British producers that can match the extensive discography of Dave Lee aka. Joey Negro; Over 200 genre-defining productions spanning 30 years, Joey Negro is one of the most important names in the history of dance music. We can’t wait to see what classics he digs out from the vaults!
DJ SPEN
A Defected regular! DJ Spen has been in the game for over thirty years and has released on labels such as Defected and Black Vinyl Records. He also set up his own imprint Basement Boys Records, for which Glenn Underground has released on amongst others. With his live edits and unrivalled skills on the decks we are in for a right treat.
ROY DAVIR JR.
Chicago legend Roy Davis Jr is responsible for the killer garage-house track “Gabriel” which sold over 200,000 copies and peaked at #22 in the UK singles chart. Not just a one-trick pony, he’s released on Omar S and Gilles Peterson’s labels and even collaborated with Daft Punk in the early 90’s!
FLEETMAC WOOD
Rave meets Rock N Roll! Fleetmac Wood have carved themselves a niche of only playing disco, house and techno remixes of Fleetwood Mac songs! It seems to have worked with nostalgic fans flocking to their gigs for a spot of dance-tinged Rock N Roll.
In the VIP Bell Tower is our good friends EDIT who will be celebrating their 5th birthday with Jaegerossa, Grant Homles + Tobie C PLUS expect a set from one of our Main Room headliners… it’ll be pretty special up there!
We want all guests to get involved and bring their own party style, we want to see flamboyant clothing, loads of glitter and none stop disco dancing!

HORSE MEAT DISCO
We couldn’t celebrate our 1st birthday without our fav partners in crime, Horse Meat Disco.
Over their many years in the industry, all four resident Djs have throw countless fantastic parties always supplying the highest quality disco sets. They’ve worked hard to revolutionise the disco world, creating a queer party for everyone: homos and heteros, bears, fashionistas, naturists, guerrilla drag queens and ladies who munch.
Musically it’s basically a glittering disco behemoth of classics, italo disco, oddities, Afro, punk funk + more – sounds delightful!
LUV DANCIN’
Topping off this incredible line up is our nearest and dearest, DJ duo Luv Dancin. They’ve joined us at many past La Discotheques, always creating an electric atmosphere until the early hours. We expect no less from them this November.
